When planning my long distance bike packing routes I now always use cycle.travel but currently have this open in another screen: https://en-gb.topographic-map.com/.
Is there any possibility of adding this kind of shading so you can try and route around the hills for self-routed ultra events?
I love the app, and now I'm a supporter having the extra maps is great!

That’s an interesting idea! Unfortunately it doesn’t look like topographic-map.com provides any map tiles we could use. In theory I could generate my own tiles like that but I fear that generating a new set of elevation tiles would gobble up space on the server pretty quickly. So it’s probably a “not for now” but I do wonder whether there might be some trickery that would allow me to one day reuse the elevation tiles for the mobile app.
