I've been planning a tour doing each day at a time. Now I'm wondering if I can join them altogether into one route on Cycle Travel? I've searched the forum but found nothing so I'm guessing the answer is a no but maybe I'm wrong. Any help appreciated.

Jon, to the best of my knowledge that's not possible on CT.
My understanding (have never done it) is that it is possible to join two gpx files together using a text editor. Google is your friend in this case.
For purely visual purposes by placing each day in the same folder it is possible to see the whole route on one map

However, for future use, CT offers the reverse - a long route that can be broken down into separate days (and files) by using the "Overnight" feature. It is really a very useful feature for multi-day rides showing distance and elevation at a glance.
Thanks, I realise now I should have done it as one route and then split it. I'm using the folder feature which is really handy.
I just searched to see if the feature existed and found in this thread that it doesn't.
I think it would be handy to be able to quickly create a new route from route segments in a folder.
I just created a few local segments and stored them in a Test folder.
Using a Join function I could create a 26 km route by stitching together Tod-Cornholme/Cornholme Long Causeway Kebs Rd/Kebs Rd Blackshaw Head Great Rock/Great Rock Tod. I could create a 15 km route by stitching together Tod-Cornholme/Cornholme Kebs Rd/Kebs Rd Eastwood Rd Great Rock/Great Rock Tod.
I forgot to add that I don't really need it for my Yorkshire routes but I am exploring Devon lanes and would like it for them. Some of them are great and some are terrible. I want to mark the ones that I don't like so I ignore them in future, and remind myself where the great ones are!
Er... And then link the great ones into longer routes.
I have just been looking at that folder again and how routes are highlighted when the mouse pointer goes over them. It would be really easy to use if one could just click on a starting route. After that, display only the ones that start from the end of the starting route choose one of those, show the new optional continuing routes and so on. When done, click a Finished button and the sub-routes would be stitched together into one route. That could be reversed if so desired.
Colin,
Colin, you could use the relatively new Markers feature to mark off places or roads that you'd prefer to avoid.
This may be more difficult than you think.
For example, if CT chooses the best route from A to B and B to C, it does not necessarily hold that the new route from A to C will go through B.
There are gpx editors that allow us to stitch two (or more) gpx tracks together. Google is your friend.
However, if you're not aware, the trace function may be helpful for you. For the example above, show route A to B as normal then add the Trace of B to C. Extend A to C using viapoints to follow the trace. Extend as many times as you like.
I hadn't noticed the Markers feature. I will take a look at that later.
I can do the stitching in Memory Map but it would be very clunky... Export route segments from cycle.travel as GPX, import GPXs to Memory Map, convert each to route format if they are track format (Memory Map can't join tracks!), join the way points that need joining.
I rarely use Memory Map now that I can view OS maps on cycle.travel. It would be really nice if I could literally go: Join A to B to C to D and cycle.travel would leave each sub-route as it was and only come up with extra routing between any endpoints that did not coincide.
I would love this feature please. I have standard routes based on local knowledge that get me out of town (York, UK) in various directions that I use as starting segments for rides. C.T is great but can't beat local knowledge and doesn't choose the route out of town I want. Would be handy to keep a library of my route segments. One day perhaps...?
I would like to do this – the actual ‘joining routes’ logic isn’t too complex. Unfortunately it will take quite a lot of gruntwork to build the user interface that lets you select the journey you want to merge with, so it’s not something I can promise overnight I’m afraid. But it’s definitely on the list.
Super - I look forward to it!
I also would love to see this feature added -- and I can appreciate the user interface complexities.
I collect (hoard) potential routes in a folder, which makes for convenient viewing of all the routes in a region. When planning a trip, I often want to combine multiple saved routes.
