Just this last week or 2 I note that I'm being logged out of cycle.travel, over and over again.

It's really tedious, particularly when I create a route, go to save it, have to log in again and poof, the route has disappeared and I have to create it all again.

Is there any way to avoid this? I'm using Firefox on both Windows 11 and Android 15

Thanks!

I've been having the same problem! I'm using Firefox on Windows 11 and Android 16. I didn't change anything in my browser settings regarding privacy, or install any new extensions.

I thought it was just me. Tried clearing cookies but had no effect. Same on Windows 11 and Safari.

Thank you – taking a look at it!

I have the same issue. When I plan a route I will send it to my Garmin but whilst riding will refer to the website to see where I am and what’s around.

I would love the ability to load my routes and see where I am going with the maps in the background.

Quite often I have no signal so I preload the pages whilst I have signal, but right now every page reloads which of course with no signal means I lose everything.

It would be great to be able to use cycle.travel offline. I know there is an app but once you load the route it switches on the gps on your phone and never switches it off which significantly drains the battery.

Best cycle nav out there, hopefully there is a solution.

Justin,

It would be great to be able to use cycle.travel offline. I know there is an app but once you load the route it switches on the gps on your phone and never switches it off which significantly drains the battery.

In my experience it's not the gps being on that drains the battery - it is any app using that gps, such as any navigation app.

Using the app, downloading the relevant maps and routes, will allow you to follow the route on the app. Given that you don't seem to need the app to navigate, just 'have a look around' every now and then, you can simply fire up the app, open the route and 'look around' - all offline. Close the app when finished to preserve battery life.

Alternatively, use the 'add note' to any viapoint on the route (add pretty much as many as you want) to remind yourself of any useful info - how far to the next coffee, possible interesting places in the area etc. Depending on your gps unit, these 'notes' will appear as TBT directions in the appropriate location.

How do I save it locally? Every time I access a route in the app it queries the server (which I can’t access without data). I know I am probably missing something but this does sound like the solution I am looking for.

Thanks

On the route list on iPhone, swipe to the side and you’ll see a download arrow. On Android, long-press the route name and a menu will appear offering the option to download it.

That’s awesome. Thanks so much

I'm also having the issue of having started to have to log into cycle.travel every time I visit the site, whereas previously it remembered who I was / which machine I was visiting from.  I'm using Chrome.

Yep - still looking into it and haven’t found a cause yet.
