Hi,
I have uploaded the gpx file of a bike tour which is a loop, but I would like to move the starting point, is that possible?
Thank you!

Not as yet but I can take a look at it! Could you let me know which of your saved journeys it is?
Thank you for your answer. In the meantime, I redesigned the tour with another starting point, but I am not entirely sure it follows exactly the same route. The tour is Pirinexus Gerona.
I want to take this opportunity to congratulate you on designing such a great routing tool. It is now the only tool I use to plan either single rides or multi days tours and it always takes me to the most quiet and bike friendly roads.
Same question here. It would be great if start/end point can be changed without changing the tour itself. Would be a nice feature for the future. Besides that, great tool indeed 👍
Ok – I’ve added this!
Click the via point, then the ‘…’ button in the bottom right for extra tools.
Click ‘Start here’.
It’ll reorder your route and make this the start point.
Is this the same process for moving the finish point please? I need to move the Start and Finish to Bristol Parkway Station from Temple Meads Station in Bristol, UK and the manual re-routing for either change will be very time consuming. Thanks for your help. Andrew
Yes, if it’s a circular route, that should work.
Hi Richard.
Sorry, I haven't got this to work i'm afraid. I'm on the laptop trying to get my planned Somerset Circle Loop route to start and finish at Bristol Parkway and not elsewhere. As this route is Private at the moment I assume you cannot see it, so would you like me to make it public. I have also tried to ensure the Start and Finish coincide so that it represents a loop. Tried the change you suggested but cannot make it work - I can relocate the Start but the route doesn't remain. It changes? Maybe I just don't understand the tools properly. For instance with a route marker, I can see the "Via" in the drop down but cannot find the extra tools button. As I am new to this, am I missing something please? Thanks for your help. Andrew
Andrew, I'll try to help.
I think that what you are trying to do is to convert a normal route into a round-trip/circular route and I don't think that will work.
My understanding is that you don't want to recreate the route but there may be a quick way:
Download your existing route as a GPX onto your phone/tablet/computer
Select your start point (Bristol Parkway)
Choose 'suggest a ride' and choose one option. One most similar to your existing route will be faster
On the 'hamburger menu' top right) choose 'trace GPX' orange
You now have your original route superimposed on the 'suggested route' and can now edit your 'suggested route' to perfectly match your original by adding viapoints.
Once satisfied, save under a different name.
Alternatively, if you search for Somerset Cycle Route (search box, top right) you'll find a few versions. Maybe one of these will better suit your needs than a suggested ride.
As for the Markers, I'm not sure what you mean by the 'Extra Tools'? Perhaps you can explain what you want to do? With no route planned we can select any marker to select as our start point. With a start point we can navigate to a Marker with 'Go to here'. With a route (start and end point) we can choose to go to (another) Marker (go via).
In any case, unless there's some need for privacy, posting the route would be easiest way to get some help.
Andrew – I can’t see it unless you make it public, so yes please, do.
I think what you might be missing is this bit:
Click the via point, then the ‘…’ button in the bottom right for extra tools.
See the grey circle in the bottom right of the popup here:
Thankyou All. I'll try again. :)
Hi Richard, Somerset Circle Loop is now public.
Great. So just click on the nearest via point to Bristol Parkway (number 45?), then in the popup, click the grey ‘…’ circle in the bottom right, and then click ‘Start here’.
Now there's a coincidence...
I was just looking at someone's version of the WYCR (West Yorkshire Cycle Route) and wanted a simple way to move the start and finish to Hebden Bridge. I hadn't noticed that this feature already existed so I came on the forum to suggest that you add it!
Yet another nice feature.
