After a year of happily using the app trouble free on android, it suddenly says ' cannot reach cycle.travel server' . The app will not link to my saved routes either, but does display background mapping and my location. There is nothing wrong with my WiFi or my smartphone . And location is switched on for the app. I have tried logging off and back on, and deleting the app and reloading it. It still doesnt work. Is there any explanation for this? Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi Tony – this is an odd one. There is a new version of the app which is why things have changed, but it shouldn’t be doing this and I can’t see why. I’ve just submitted a further revised version to Google which, when they approve it, may fix things but, if not, should give me a bit more feedback on what’s happening here. Sorry for the hassle.
Out of interest, do you know what model phone you have, and what version of Android it’s running?
Thanks Richard Its a samsung S23, fully updated, One UI version 7.0, android version 15
Maybe linked to similar issues with google but after latest android app update Ordenance survey maps wont now display.
App version 1.7.1
Also anyway to switch off the camera icon in the app update?
Personally prefer an uncluttered map screen but now with thw "plan" icon, the "camera" icon, the "where to" box map visuals being washed out.
Addirional informations re app issue, it appears any of the "extra" maps that were available via the subscription wont display, eg OS for UK IGN for France etc.
I am also seeing the server error.
OS maps are working for me.
The app is using the whole screen so the time, battery level, wifi and mobile signal levels, camera hole etc are getting in the way at the top and the swipe bar at the bottom is too. The curved corners of the display are not being allowed for either so text is sometimes getting lopped off.
Unfortunately dear old Google decided to change the way that screen layout works. There’s a new version 1.7.3 making its way into the Play Store right now which should fix that.
I now have v1.7.3 on my Galaxy Tab A (Android 11) and Pixel 8 phone (Android 16).
The "Long-press any route..." instruction is now lifted up and inset enough to miss the curved corner of the screen.
Notifications, battery indicators etc. are usefully displayed on a solid background when dialog boxes are on screen, but the map still goes all the way to the top of the screen with notifications illegibly overlaid on it.
I am seeing a warning about needing to allow the app to access location even though I already do.
I loaded a test route onto the tablet and it is displayed. The same route does not show up on the phone. The phone showed a phone icon next to the name of the route after saying it was downloading to the phone. The tablet just gets on with it and doesn't mention downloading or display an icon!
The phone app is still displaying text related to a ride that I did in Devon several days ago "Open [A Devon ride]"!
I just enabled the option to allow debug information , in case that helps.
I use my laptop to plan routes, and navigate with dedicated GPS devices, but I want to have the option to update routes from my phone while I am out if there is a change of plan.
