Dear Richard; I just did the App update - and now it crashes consistently and instantly :-(
The App starts and before the map is rendered completely it closes / crashes.
I rebooted my phone (Lineage OS 19.1 on old Samsung Phone), reinstalled the App.
Result is the same. Very sad. Do you have any ideas? Can I provide any further information?

I think this is probably because MapLibre, the map display code used by cycle.travel (and a thousand other mapping apps), now requires a piece of graphics technology that older phones don’t have.
I’ve sent Heiner a link to download the previous version of the cycle.travel Android app so hopefully this will fix it.
It did fix it for me - thank you, Richard!!!
Hello Richard
I think this is the same issue I am having with the App on my Android phone - it is no longer bringing up the routes. It allows me to download the route to the phone but then when I go and click on the route I want to navigate the screen remains blank.
Assistance appreciated.
Regards
Chris
Chris – if you need to download the previous version it’s at https://raster-eu.cycle.travel/downloads/cycle_travel_android_23.apk.
That said, I’m not sure this is exactly the same issue: if you can give me exact instructions on how to reproduce the problem (i.e. a specific route where this happens, exactly which items you tap in which order, etc.) I can take a further look.
Hi Richard thanks for this assistance.
I have reinstalled the App using the link above and unfortunately the same thing happens.
I can download the route I want to the App by holding on the route and then getting the message that it has downloaded however when I am offline and I tap the "Routes" button, I then get the Downloaded routes page showing the folder icon and when I then tap on that I can see the route name that I want to open in cycle.travel however when I tap on the route name I end up with a blank screen bar the route folders heading and nothing is displaying.
I trust this is of some help to you.
Many thanks - Regards
Chris
Chris, I think Richard is on the road so I'll butt in.
I've just tested your scenario and it works as expected for me - that's both for pre-downloaded routes and one downloaded for the test.
However, I do recall something odd a while ago. I couldn't load routes in the app through the 'Routes' button but tapping on the 'My Journeys' (above Settings) seemed to solve it.
After that, the phone model and Android version would be helpful.
Also, it may be worthwhile reposting your issue as a separate thread.
Thanks for the report - as Hobbes says I’m on the road at the moment but will take a look when I’m back in a week or so!
Thanks again to you Richard and Hobbes - It has taken me some time to get back on to this and when I used the link you provided above to the older version the Android App on my phone is now working once again.
All good and appreciated.
