Thanks. I'm cycling Eurovelo 7 from Berlin to Copenhagen. As it's 95% cycle path it seems a bit contrary not to use it without good reason. The suggested route is way off the path which is apparently well serviced and signposted for 700km. I am trying to drag it to EV7 but it really doesn't want to know.
cycle.travel doesn’t always choose EuroVelo routes by default because they can be very indirect – for example, west of Fürstenburg, EV7 takes a 16km loop when the direct (and still safe/quiet) route is 5km.
If you choose ‘Routes’ mode (top left), then cycle.travel will use signposted cycle routes only. These include national and regional routes so won’t just be EuroVelo, but it should only be a matter of a minute to then drag it onto EV7 for any sections you want.
There are also a lot of ‘pre-made’ routes you can choose from – go to “Browse all routes on a map” under “Route guides”, and click on the one you want.
