Hi All,
I recall reading on the Feedback Forum concerning transferring long journeys from CT-web to a GPS or to the CT-app : that it was advisable to breakdown long journeys to a reasonable size before transfer. Unfortunately I can’t seem to fish-out this post again using key word searches so my questions are :
• What would be a reasonable journey size to transfer to the CT-app (android)? &
• The same question for a GPS (e.g. Garmin et al) ?
Thanks yet again for your help.
J.

Hi Jeremiah, I think there may be some confusion between importing a route into CT and saving/exporting a route to use on a gps device.
Certainly importing a route (from another planner or a recorded ride) is limited by length so best done in "chunks". (Actually, best done by utilising the trace feature).
As far as I know there is no impactful limit on the length of the route that can be used in the app.
GPS units may be different. My understanding is that Garmin units can have a limit on "trackpoints". My Wahoo has happily displayed routes of several thousand km.
How useful having such a long route is is a completely different matter.
There is no need to "export" to the app. So long as the route is labelled "public" it should be appearing in the app automatically. And even saved for offline use. See below
