As to your first question do you mean here on CT or just anywhere on the Internet? For inspiration I've been known to look up bike touring companies to see where they send people.

I've toured (briefly) in both Ireland and Scotland. CrazyGuyOnABike is my go-to. 

And to be pedantic it's Aer Lingus :-)

There isn’t really a way to search through routes that people have planned yet, but now that almost 400,000 have been planned (and saved) on cycle.travel I wonder if it’s something I should add!

What would be most useful as a search interface? Something like RideWithGPS’s layout, perhaps?
