Is it possible when creating a route selecting multiple points to delete all the numbers ? The reason I ask is they clutter up the view and,for me, they don't serve a purpose.

The numbering is necessary so that in complex situations it is possible to see the way the sequence of numbers is determining the route (eg loops, double-backs, etc).
But I can understand how they can be distracting. Perhaps an option to not display the via point numbers while retaining the Via Point symbols? Or do you mean, an option to not display the via points at all??
I really don't need to see the numbered points at all after a route is created.
