Trying to plan a route from the Netherlands to Budapest and the route keeps breaking on save. When I re-load it the waypoints are missing and the length is wrong. Can I do anything to stop it happening. If I re-route by switching fro routes to any (for example) it seems to sort itself out - but not always. Can someone have a look? August 26 in my journeys.

It’s also losing any overnight stops so really causing me issues now!
Um … noticed my country in my profile was set to Albania. Changed to UK and seems to have fixed my routing issues ! No idea !

Pete, you don't make clear if you're using the app or website. I'm assuming you're using the website.
Also, it's not clear if this is a route you planned from scratch or imported. I'm guessing it's an import. There was a similar issue before when a route 'started' on a Dutch knooppunt.
I don't know what's happening under the hood but as a quick fix, open the route and change the option from 'routes' to 'any'. It may take a few seconds. Save this and use this saved version as the basis for your planning.
For what it's worth, NL is jammed with 'official routes' and I'm not sure on the value of plotting a route across the country using 'Routes' - my experience there is that CT will plot an excellent route based on its own criteria. Almost every stretch, it seems, is an 'official route' of some kind.
If you're still having issues, can you be more specific on what 'breaking on save' means?
We the route loads after saving it is just a line, no waypoints. The distance says 150 Kms or similar but the line goes start to finish. If I flick from Routes to Any then the route appears OK with my saved waypoints, but I lose my overnights. I’ve since saved it breaking it into days but the days seem to have the same issue. Now I’ve got my days it’s not such a big issue. I, using the website for planning and it’s planned from scratch. I’ve had a few goes now and get the same problem every time. Could be my start location but have tried a few. Will keep playing with each day (stored in a sub-folder with same name) and see if I can narrow it down to something.

Pete, can you be clearer on what the 'same issue' is?
The route you have linked to doesn't have the same start point as your original? I have a suspicion that the start point is the issue despite you saying that you have tried different ones.
I can open https://cycle.travel/map/journey/938338 and edit it, add overnight stops and save it.
It may also be helpful to say what browser you are working on. You could try another.
I’m not 100% sure if this is what you mean, but there was something in your saved route for the whole journey (https://cycle.travel/map/journey/938320) that was causing the site to get confused. I’ve tweaked this and it should load happily now.
