Hi
I've used cycle.travel for a long time now printing out maps for my handlebar mounted map holder. Suddenly, the pdf converter has stopped working. This is the one I'm currently trying to print. http://cycle.travel/map/journey/772648
Any advice?
Steve

Steve, I've just tried your route and was able to download a couple of different pdfs. I don't normally use that feature so can't say if they are correct or not.
Perhaps you could check again and if there are still issues make clear which version of the pdf you want to download and at what stage the process 'stops working'?
Thanks for trying. I've tried several of my routes at all different scales. On that one, I tried both scales offered city scale and local scale. Also the cue sheets. When there used to be a cycling man while it creates the pdf, nothing happens from clicking the download button.
I can create PDFs in other applications so it doesn't seem to be a problem with my laptop: a macbook pro.
Steve, I have just downloaded both city & local scale of the route you provided without any problem. I am using a Chromebook.
It's looking like the issue is on your end. Have you changed any settings on your Macbook recently? I'd look to any WiFi/security/download/VPN settings.
Thinking further on this, can you try a different browser as a quick fix?
Thanks. I've been using Firefox and have now tried Safari but that doesn't even open my saved journeys: just opens a blank sheet. A friend of mine has used their android phone to open it and manages to print it on my printer. Hopefully that will get round the problem before I go to Germany when I will need a lot more prints. I'd still like to solve the problem as that is far from convenient. I agree; it seems to be a problem at my end
I will look at the security settings - or get someone else to look at them.
Steve, if you want to set up a throwaway email address and share it here I can download the pdfs and send them to you.
You'll need to make sure the relevant routes are public and indicate which format you want.
Thanks very much for your offer. I'd like to take you up on that when I'm ready. I need to break down my 1000 km route in to lengths that can be handled by the PDF driver. I'll let you know when I'm ready.
Thanks very much.
Steve
No problem.
I'd suggest setting up the email and at least one route section so that we can test & perfect the process while you're doing the other sections. I'm afraid the same issue you have downloading from CT may apply to an email attachment.
Thanks. I'll get on with that as soon as I can.
OK. email address is sparlour2025@outlook.com and the route is named frankfurt rottingen
Done
The maps you sent me are a mixture of landscape and portrait which break up in strange ways when I try to save as PDF or print so bits are missing. If I use the android phone to print direct it comes out in portrait without breaking up. I've decided to get round the problem by saving in cycle travel and printing from a phone.
Thanks ever so much for your help I really appreciate it.
No problem. I don't use the PDFs so have no idea what is useful or not. At least you got yourself sorted. Enjoy Germany - it has great cycling fuel :-) I'm familiar with the area of your PDF.
