I will soon be staying in a hotel in France,I am trying to creating a round trip by using more points. However when the return route covers the same roads as outward route CT wont let be proceed. No big deal as Im sure I will recognise the return

I guess I am missing something but what.

Did you use the round-trip function on the map page? This tries to get you back to your starting point using different roads from the outward part of the journey. In your case, you don't want this so you should be able to add via points to the return route and drag them to where you want. You may then have trouble seeing the return route on the map as it will lie on the outward route.

Try clicking on your start point, then the point at which you want to turn around and then click on round-trip.

Alternatively, you could plot your outward route. Save it with a name. Then click the double arrows just above the es in campsites. This will reverse the route and you can save it with a different name. Now you have separate outward and return routes.

It's worth bearing in mind that there may be good reasons for outward and return routes being different. One-way streets and steep hills might be an issue.

Hope you get it sorted out and enjoy the ride.

Thank you Martin for your reply.

I have tried a number of ways trying to get CT to do what I want, it seems the easiest way is to create a outward and then create a return route as you suggest.

Having said that CT has a number of suggested round trips that do exactly what Im trying to achieve

c.t won’t let you extend a route to somewhere that’s already on the route, but you can drag the route onto itself. So if you click somewhere else then drag, that should do it.

Richard,

Thank you I will try that.
