Yes – both the iPhone and Android apps will give spoken turn-by-turn directions.

And it's very good  - just the right amount of information and the timing is spot on. Best I've found yet.

I have not been able to get voice navigation working on my Android whether I create a route on the webpage or on the app. The app settings are for Spoken Announcements.The volume setting is for audible e.g. voice navigation works for Google Maps.  

I must be missing something.  Any suggestions?

(Snother user here). For me, voiced directions always work - unless I have turned the volume on the phone down to nothng for some reason... I assume you have ruled that out?

If you remain stuck, I suggest you advise details of yout phone and the Android release number it is using; with that info Richard may be able to investigate. Which country you are seeking to navigate might perhaps be relevant.

Sure, the volume was turned up and the phone worked with Google Maps here in Surrey, England.  I don't believe the problem is the phone model or Android release (Samsung Galaxy S25, 16 respectively).  I'm guessing there is some setting that needs to be tweaked.  However, you have given me an idea - I can try on another phone.

Certainly a headscractcher. I wonder if the mystery may be something about the App permissions set on your phone in respect of CycleTravel?  On my Galaxy A55 (using Android 16), in Settings > Apps/app info, for CycleTravel I have :

Notifications: allowed 

Permissions: Location, Nearby devices and Notifications. 

Manage app if unused = off

App version 2.3.1

Voice announcements work on my Sony Xperia running Android 15, as shown on the Reg Pither YouTube channel.

Apologies if you have already solved this, but long press (press and hold) the Cycle.Travel icon, then an app info bubble pops up:

Tap that bubble and the app status appears, including permissions:

Tap Permissions and further status will appear:

Note that Notifications must be allowed. Permissions can be withdrawn if you don't use the app for a while.

If all is OK, all we can suggest is uninstalling then reinstalling the app?
