Hello,
For quite some time I've been considering cycling the Lon Las route (Cardiff to Holyhead).
This will be my first ever long distance ride, and I'm cosidering purchasing an e-bike to do it.
I was wondering if anyone might have any general advice or tips for the ride or perhaps ideas on good places to stay or visit during the adventure - I'm planning on setting a week aside for the ride, so I'd have extra time for sightseeing and activities.
But mainly I was wondering if anyone knew of charging points for e-bikes along the route? I was considering camping rather than using hotels, but realised this may be difficult to charge the bike each day on campsites.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I did this route last year, using leg power over 4 days.
I did meet a chap who was doing it on an electric bike, however have no idea what his daily distances were.
I think you're going to have to check out the route guide on this site, bring up the campsites, pick the ones you like, and phone them up about charging.
General advice:
Make sure the bike fits, is comfortable and you can spend the required hours in the saddle day after day after day.
Do fully laden practice runs from home including camping out, charging your battery etc etc even if you camp in your own garden. This should help you hone your packing list.
Practice in the rain.
Make sure the bike is well prepared and have a plan for punctures and mechanicals.
If you need an adapter to go from a campsite charging point to a 3 pin plug, make sure you have one.
You are probably going to have to book ahead as pitches with electricity are generally less numerous than basic pitches.
Consider carefully how you are going to get to the start and end points. I did a 1 way car hire to Cardiff, then extended the route by an additional 2 days to cycle home.
Enjoy. It's a brilliant trip.
