In this route, I got routed over a very busy road, instead of a very pleasant pedestrian/cycle bridge that went right over it. Journey in question: https://cycle.travel/map/journey/1047991
Screenshot of the problem part, drew arrows to the bridge over the busy road, and the path it should've taken instead. This alternate path was shorter, and much more pleasant to cycle on. This was a dirt path, but I put the routing in gravel mode, and the path I would have liked to be routed over instead was a very pleasant, wide path that was much tamer than other almost mtb-esque sections on this same route that the route planner had no problem including in the route, so I don't think there's any good reason for this path to have been excluded from the route.
If this is a mapping issue, in that that path isn't marked as traversible by bike (in gravel mode), I'd love to learn more about how I could potentially correct this in the underlying mapping data to fix stuff like this myself.

Maybe it was included because its smoothness was marked as "bad"? Is that what might have excluded it from routing here? Going by the examples here, a smoothness of "bad" should definitely still be traversible by a gravel bike: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:smoothness?uselang=en, so perhaps something else caused this path to be excluded from the routing.
Frederik, I can't answer your question, but by adding a Via Point (as in this example) CT will direct us over the bridge in question which suggests that CT will route over the bridge -the real question is 'when'.
Thanks! I did indeed notice that it's possible to get CT to route through here with a via point, but am hoping we can get it to work without manual intervention, to make CT routing just a little bit more of a "it just works" experience.

I also noticed that putting a via point right before the bridge still has it take a detour over the large road instead of just going over the bridge.
Thanks! I don't think it's the smoothness value – it's either a freak elevation value, or something to do with the car park service road. I'll see if I can work out what.
