I am in Uruguay and trying to use the website but it is not bringing up the map. When I try the app I can see the map but I can’t actually plan a route. Died it work in Uruguay does anyone know? Thanks!

Sorry, Joanie, you'll need to head up to México to use CT. - it doesn't cover Uruguay yet.
For out of the way places, Osmand is a useful app to plan and navigate. (Plans offline if maps are downloaded).
iOverlander can also be useful for road conditions and other info useful to travellers.
CrazyGuyOnABike will have journals of other people's routes down there too. Sometimes it's possible to download gpx files too.
Buen viaje!
Thanks! It’s strange that the app brings up the map but I can’t plan a route! I will have a look at your suggestions and will try and get to grips with Komoot!
