Hello,
I'd like to know how to make a one-time donation. I know I've done it before but don't recall how.
Just finished a bike tour from Vancouver, BC, Canada to San Diego, CA and used cycle.travel most of the time and it did a great job with the route. Thank you for all the hard work, really appreciate it.
One request, it would be nice if it told you how far to the next turn. Organic Maps has this feature and it was nice but the routing on Organic maps wasn't as good as Cycle.travel. :)

Scott, is this similar to the route you followed?

Scott, that depends on whether you want to use Patreon or pay through your Google/Apple account.
@ken Jessett - yes pretty much. Have you done ridden it?
@HobbesOnTour - I'll use google/Apple account. Thank you.
Hi Scott. I've thought about it but the reports I get about the intense - mostly tourist - traffic along the coast has put me off. I'm not really a fan of gawking drivers.
Scott, in that case I think you'd need to set up a subscription, perhaps adjust the amount then cancel the sub after the first payment.
Of more relevance would be the reluctance to maintain a subscription? The monthlyish updates are a great source of what's new (there's always something new!) I'd imagine it's also easier for Richard as he can make a more accurate estimation of his income based on subs rather than one off payments.
First of all I should say I’m very grateful to anyone who would like to make a donation!
At present it’s not really possible for boring tax reasons. Essentially Patreon, Apple and Google all sort out the international tax (they’re what’s known as “merchants of record”). However, they all work on the basis of recurring payments. I would need to find an alternative merchant of record in order to be able to accept one-time donations.
In the medium term I am considering finding an alternative to Patreon because there are a handful of things about it that are not great. At that point I should be able to take one-time donations. But at the moment it doesn’t really work – sorry!
Well, that's frustrating. I am in the US and make donations to overseas wildlife charities with no issues. I had no idea there was a 'tax' on such. When the world finally implodes or explodes, there will be a tax man wanting his share.
Even Scrooge finally came round to being nice, why not the tax collector?
