I used the app for the first time and it was very good. Had expected to need t buy a garmin or something but the app does all I need. Went from Hackney to Dartford and using the A1306 on the way back - while the directions were good - and having them spoken is great- I wondered if you could give an option to mute the "cycle lane" directions. Once you've told us which way to go it's just confusing to get the left/right just t cross the road. And sometimes when there's traffic I may miss the real direction. And just get the left/right abut the cycle lanes. Particularly if it's a junction with multiple crossings.
I was surprised it didn't recommend the greenway to get to Hackney - though it does when I just checked the app now ( recommended I go via Limehouse.)
Are the yellow dots Km markers?
anyway congrats for producing such a good app - and thankyou.

Paul, perhaps you could share your route? You can make it available by saving it as 'public' as opposed to 'private'.
The yellow dots are indeed mile/km markers.
When calculating a 'round trip', CT will try to choose an alternative route. I tend to view the 'outward' route as optimum and the return leg as 'secondary' - no offence to CT.
As to the muting of 'cycle lane' directions, elsewhere on the forum there have been reports of not enough directions on certain roads! This can raise issues with not giving adequate warning of possible junctions and right-of-way issues.
Not familiar with the area, a quick look suggests a densely populated area - often complex for any navigation device. Given it's your first time out, I'm confident that familiarity with the app will minimise confusion with time.
In the meantime, perhaps share the route and highlight an example?
You may also want to consider the 'suggest a ride' option: Simply set a start point, choose 'suggest a ride', set your distance and choose from the options offered. Where available, clicking on 'Suggest a ride' again will offer up more options. I have found this an excellent way to generate good, safe routes in built up areas.
Don't forget that the route type (Any, paved, gravel etc.) will influence CT's choices.

Getting the directions not to be too fussy is an ongoing challenge. OpenStreetMap (c.t’s source mapping data) is very granular, and treated faithfully would create a mass of little instructions. c.t does a lot of extra processing to minimise this and it’s something I’m constantly working on but it’s not 100% perfect yet!
