David we can 'drag' a route by moving a viapoint. Can you confirm that you're doing this?
Can you also confirm if you're using the website or the app?
Finally, do you have an example route? Is this something that applies to new routes or all routes?
I know nothing about IOS but have you recently changed any settings? Do any other apps that you use display any similar issues?
Part of the problem I suspect is..”click to add via point” hard to click with a touch screen … double tap does nothing …. 👍
Using the website on iPhone/iPad, your best bet is to double-tap the route to bring up the ‘bubble’, choose ‘Insert via point’, then drag that. It’s a little less convenient than on a computer, but that’s because just allowing simple drags would make it really easy to accidentally drag the route when you were trying to move the map.
