The app was working perfectly for both paved and biking options and now nothing is working!!

I get a message saying there's either no internet(not the case) or a bug. I'm out touring France and hope this can be fixed ASAP.

THANKS!

George, if you want help you'll need to be more specific:

IOS/Android?

Screenshots or exact text of the error message(s).

What exactly nothing is working! means? Can you open the app? Can you plan a route? Can you load a route? Can you navigate a route?

When was it working perfectly? Yesterday? At home?

I'm assuming that since you posted here that you have online connectivity? (It can be easy to accidentally knock it off)

My android app is working as expected.

My default go-to when electronics don't work as expected is to reboot the phone.

After that I'd check my CT app settings, my battery settings, close any other apps,

The website seems to be working but not the app. There are no issues regarding internet connection.

I've tried uninstalling and installing the app and restarting my phone several times too but the problem persists.

Are you trying to plot a route or load an existing route?

Perhaps someone with an IOS app can confirm if the IOS app is working?

It seems that I can plan a route now if I manually put in point to point, but not if I use the "where to". It is however able to locate my exact position.

Try opening your route on the website and saving it as 'public'. Refresh your routes in the app and try loading it again.

For plotting a route try using the website on your phone, saving it, then opening in the app.

Since you haven't answered the questions I'll wish you Bon chance

I thought I did answer your questions.

My apologies.

But I'll take your advice and see.

It might be a brief hiccup in the server or connectivity. I’d suggest making sure you’re in standard rather than paved-only mode - occasionally issues with OpenStreetMap data can cause a problem with paved routes in the app. Failing all that try quitting the app altogether (usually swipe up and hold on Android) and then reopening it.

Thank you Richard!

Thinking about it a bit more I’m 90% sure this is a paved routing issue.

As a bit of background, in paved routing mode, c.t tries to find a route from your current location (using the “Where to…?” option) to the place you select.

This can fail if your start point is on paved surfaces but, according to OpenStreetMap data, there’s no way out on paved surfaces. Think of an island of concrete in the middle of a grassy park!

The website has a bunch of code to get around this but it’s not all in the apps yet. It’s on the to-do list but, for now, if you choose a slightly different start point it should be ok.

I really appreciate your thoughts and time. That makes a lot of sense. Thank you.
