Have you recently made any changes to cycle.travel privacy settings? When exporting CT routes to my Hanmerhead/Karoo 2 they have failed to download. Hammerhead have no problem importing my routes but I do. Hammerhead support claim it must be due to an adjustment at CT’s end in the privacy settings. If anyone can shed any light that’d be great. I can still get routes across but rather than just copy and paste I now have to download them, save them and then export them. It used to be so much more simple but now it’s a bit of a faff!

Could you explain what you're doing – is this the website, Android app, or iOS app? What did you use to do (click-by-click) and what has changed?

The way I used to do it was go to my route. Click the GPS option. Click More options. Then copy the GPS track link https: then just paste this into my Hammerhead dashboard.

Thanks! Nothing has changed at this end but it’s possible that Cloudflare (which provides security for cycle.travel and a million other websites) is blocking Hammerhead from fetching the GPX file. I have just tweaked the Cloudflare settings and that might fix the problem - let me know if it does or doesn’t.

Hi Richard, many thanks for trying that. It's not made any difference. I'll pass it on to Hammerhead and see if they have any other ideas.

Hi Richard, I got the following from Hammerhead:

“I checked the link - I also got an error. The error I receive is "not authorized to import this route".

That error means the server on the other end is blocking the request when Hammerhead calls for the route. Unfortunately, this appears to be an issue with that site's security settings blocking our request.

Have you reached out to Cycle Travel again since the reply you shared from them?”

Does this make any sense to you?

Best wishes

Paul

It does – I have done a bit more digging and it was indeed a Cloudflare issue. I’ve tweaked the setup and it should now (hopefully) be fixed. Let me know if that works for you.
