Hello, I'm soon to set off up the Rhine and am pleased to have discovered cycle.travel. As a map fanatic, and not wanting to either buy or carry all the maps that would be required, I was thrilled to see the 'download pdf map' facility. The Swiss section has worked, however the Dutch and N German sections will not open either on the website or in my android app. Have they not yet been produced?

Hi, if you go to the Route Guides on the website and open the map for the section of the route you're looking for, under 'Route Tools' we can download the PDF. There's a choice of formats depending on what you're looking for.
Just a note on the Rhine 'route': As well as a choice of banks for a lot of the journey once you get to NL there are many variations. If you choose to modify the CT version to suit your own preferences, simply save it and you can download your version as outlined above.
Just an addendum: If that's your email address as your name it might be an idea to change it otherwise it's publicly visible. I think you'll need to email info@cycle.travel to do that.
Thanks for advice. I've emailed info.
May i show you what i am still getting when i click on download pdf? Yet Switzerland opens!
Please reread my first paragraph. Open the map, then download the PDF.
The Dutch section works fine, the German section may be too long. If so, simply save the map.
Open the saved map (master), add a viapoint at about the 250km mark and use the 'delete' after option. Save this 'new' map as stage 1 (as an example) and download the PDF as explained earlier.
Now reopen your 'master' copy and create 'stage 2' from approx km 250 to 500 (using 'delete before' & 'delete after').
Repeat for the final stage.
I believe that creating PDF files is very heavy on server resources and have a hunch that the parameters for downloading them has changed since the route guides were created, hence the problem with the German section.
In all honesty, downloading the route to your phone app would be the ideal way of transporting your maps. With downloaded maps and routes you won't even need a data signal to see where you are or to navigate.
The PDF guides are both there now – thanks for spotting (I have to push an extra button to create them and I’d forgotten in this case!).
Thanks, that's perfect now. And I'll be able to put the phone away at least some of the time.
