I have just finished a three-week tour using the c.t app as my primary navigation tool and I'm quite happy!
But one item worries me. At one point on the "Hohe Venn" there was no mobile signal and that rendered the c.t app useless!
I'd expected that the routes that I'd created on the c.t web and which were visible in the app, would be stored locally in my phone and work without any internet connection. Was that expectation unfounded or is there something that I'd not done correctly to enable them?

Did you...
Download the relevant maps(s)?
Download the routes for offline use?
Routes aren’t automatically synced but you can download them for offline use - on Android, long-press on the route and choose the download option. I think this is mentioned in the Help page (it is on iOS, but I don’t have an Android phone with me right now to check) but I’ll look at adding some extra UI to point this out.
Ah. I have to admit that I wasn't aware of the download for offline use option. I'll test it immediately.
Thanks!
Where are the maps and routes stored? Or, rather, can I control this in some way? I'd prefer to put this kind of data on my SD card - unless that affects the performance of the app.
You can’t yet - it’s on the to-do list but under the heading of “weird Android stuff where the documentation is scattered across five different places and you have to implement it three times for different versions of Android”. Or something like that…
Lol. Sounds like business as usual to me.
Let me revise the question: If I download a bunch of maps and find that I've used up all the free space in my phone (or on my SD card, but that's easier to remedy by buying a new one) can i safely remove them by simply locating them and using a file browser to just delete the files? Or will there be non-map files in the same directory so that I risk damaging the c.t installation?
Never mind - I figured how to remove unused maps in the c.t app itself. Neat.
Now I will turn on power saving mode and go for a walk, to test my theory that the lag I was whining about is caused by that.
