Hello the creator of this absolutely great tool for long distance real usage route planning.
I have already used so many of planners (b.router, Maps, komoot, Garmin) but this one is, for me, the best one ever.
Let's dream a bit: in a year I begin a Bordeaux (France)-Sapporo (Japan) cycling trip, alone.
I wish I can plan my itineraries with cycle.travel all along.
However, if Asian coverage is not planned to exist, which route planner would you recommend then?

Bump! Planning to Cycle to Japan as well. Haven't decided if I'm going via Asia or the Americas though, but would live to have the option of using cycle.travel if I decide on the Asia route
Yoann – really glad you like it!
I would very much like to add Asia. Unfortunately hardware is the limiting factor – both in terms of the servers which handle the routing requests, and the machine that sits on my desk and does the route preparation every month. Adding Asia would certainly mean renting more servers, but also possibly replacing the route preparation machine with something bigger. In short, it would be pretty expensive.
I definitely haven’t ruled it out but it’ll probably need cycle.travel to get a bit more popular before I can afford it. Until then, I think I’d recommend a combination of brouter and RideWithGPS – brouter is very customisable, while RideWithGPS is good for chopping and changing routes.
