I find the Google StreetView function really useful but is there a way I can use it on roads that are not part of the route - as you can with some other apps, e.g. by dragging the Yellow man over a road? Would be really useful to view other potential routes without first having to move the route onto that road.

I like the idea – I’d like to offer the accommodation search similarly – but it’s a question of working out an intuitive way to present it! Clicking on the map already extends the route; right-clicking (or long-press on mobile) adds a marker. I’m a bit loth to add lots of extra tools which will just clutter things and confuse most users. So I haven’t yet thought of a straightforward way to present it. Ideas welcome!
Just drop the yellow Pegman icon onto any road you’re curious about, and you’ll be able to explore it in Street View mode.
