I have seen mention of showing restaurants in the map, but can't figure out how to turn this on? The accommodations work so well, it would be great to also see restaurants just as quickly to make sure we have food mid-day or if we have to plan on getting something earlier to take with us. Thanks! Amazing tool!

Unlike the accommodation, restaurants and the like are embedded in the map - like rivers, lakes and roads. There is no "turning them on".
They should be available at the appropriate zoom level.
The types and markings are denoted in the map key.
Depending on where in the world you are, the validity of the data may be variable

Not in the way that hotels or campsites are.
They’re clickable in the app for cycle.travel supporters (iPhone for now, working on Android at the moment!). The website uses an older mapping technology that doesn’t lend itself so well to clickable points. It might be possible to have a ‘Search nearby’ function like the accommodation search – not something I’d considered before but worth adding to the (long) list.
I didn't know that feature of the app.

Great! I have andriod, but my wife has iphone. I didn't try it on her phone. Will help with in the field planning then. Thank you!
