we use cycletravel for planning and love it, we then use our routes on mapsme as they can be used offline, however they use kml files which means i have to download then convert the gpx files, is there anyway there could be an option to download directly as a kml file or other similar to plotaroute, would save a lot of time thanks

That option already exists.
Go to download, select "other options" and select KML. just tested it and it's working fine
