This little-known route needs some more signposts, but its easy:-
- From John Leigh Park, take Oldfield Road westwards, away from the town.
- Where Seamons Road curves to the right, bear left at the junction to continue along Oldfield Road.
- As you walk or ride over Oldfield Brow, Oldfield Road narrows and becomes Oldfield Lane. This is single track, with high hedges on both sides.
- After passing the microbrewery on the right, you arrive in Dunham Massey village.
From here, you can explore the village, or cross B5160 Charcoal Road (carefully! Busy traffic) to the National Trust gardens, or head north to Dunham village.
