A small detour is necessary and recommended to visit the center of Sedan, although we did not manage to take the pictures to prove it.
The center of Charleville-Mezier has a stunning central place, also worth a detour.
From there, it is easy cruising,
until the rain starts.
Fortunately, the camp ground has a roofed picnic place.
We took a shortcut from the Eurovelo to avoid some climbs (with limited success) and drove into Mouzon where they had a biker festival (the motorized variety). But the sandwiches and the fries were good, and it is nice little town.
Luxurious campground in Douzy, a bit on the expensive side though because of the lake.
Nice picnic place in Consenvoye.
Some traffic on the road.
Dun is close.
The campground is fine and has a lake, but beware that there is only little shade for tenters.
Easy going on an old railroad track (unfortunately only a small portion has been converted so far).
One of many memorials in this area.
Short break in the shade.
Into Verdun
with an impressive fort.
Up and down again.
Into the void.
Home of the Madeleines, which a very friendly man presented us in the middle of nowhere when we just had made another climb.
The country side still surprises when you find a large chateau in a small town.
The campground in Saint Mihiel was just under 10 Euro, but one of the best.
