I am trying to find a cycle friendly route in Cologne to take me from Hotel Motel One, Mediapark to the Hauptbahnhof. The route plotted indicates NRW on some of the directions. These could be to do with one-way streets for vehicles but not bicycles. Please could you clarify for me? Thanks. Tandemtim

It's a locally designated cycle route (NRW = North Rhine Westphalia, the land or state). Anything you see in a road label ‘shield’ like that is a code for that route – like the numbers on National Cycle Network routes in the UK. So hopefully the NRW routes should be cycle-friendly.
