Thanks for an excellent site. Very informative and inspiring for new ideas.

My wife and I are occasional cyclist but have completed the Cotswold ride, Coast and Castle and recently the Morecombe bay cycle route. We used our campervan as a base and the train to get to us to or back from each section of route (s). Please could you recommend any other routes that we may tackle in this way? Funds are limited for hotels and we are a bit long in the tooth for full on cycle camping. Best wishes, Phil & Linda

North Wales Coast, Lon Cambria and Celtic Trail all follow railway lines for much of their distance as they follow the natural "lines of least resistance" through Wales - should be possible to use trains to "shuttle" back and forth along them.  Lon Cambria probably the nicest of the three but probably also has the least frequent trains?

An alternative is to choose a circular route like the Norfolk Coast and Rivers where you can use a central travel node such as Norwich as the "hub" from which you can take "spoke" railway lines out to your daily start points, and then cycle round to the next "spoke" line back to your overnight stop.
