(Note: in this, following signs "to" a place should mean you actually go there, whereas "towards" a place means you will change direction before it. Not every signposted turn is mentioned, especially when on marked routes like the Red/Blue routes or A/B roads.)
Follow Route Red 1 south from King's Lynn towards Wisbech, then Red 11 to Downham Market.
In Downham Market, ignore Red 11's right turn off the B1507 Lynn Road and continue straight on towards Wisbech, then to Denver. Use cycleway/island bypass crossing slip lane on left if you wish.
In Denver, turn left before church onto Red 11 Ryston Road, then continue forwards onto Blue 30, careful across busy A10, towards Wretton and Stoke Ferry (third left, then left, then right) but turn right onto B1160 to Wissington sugar factory. This 3 mile section is usually fairly quiet but used by large lorries.
After Wissington, take unsignposted first left on sharp bend, then follow signs to Methwold, then to Cranwich Heath, then to Mundford. After turning right onto busy A134, use first left to join cycleway. At end of cycleway, turn left into St Leonard's Road, then left at the Crown (possible lunch stop) and left-right across A1065 into Lynford Road. The arboretum is at the far end on the right and worth walking around.
Return along Lynford Road, then right onto A1065 and left after bridge towards Didlington. Turn left at first crossroads, then fork right to reach Foulden. Turn right and follow Route Blue 30 towards Oxborough, but turn off right to Beachamwell.
At the edge of Beachamwell, follow signs towards Fincham, then left towards Downham Market, then right at crossroads towards Swaffham, right at end and next left towards RAF Marham, but keep straight on to Narborough.
In Narborough, turn left at the central crossroads and follow signs and road to Pentney.
In Pentney, turn left opposite church, signposted Gravel Pits. Follow road past pits to East Winch and cross busy A47. Turn right at end, then left to Ashwicken. Turn left at end onto busy B1145 to edge of King's Lynn.
At the hospital, turn right at mini-roundabout into its entrance then immediately left onto cycleway crossing. Follow cycleway along the road and turn right with it into unsigned Spring Lane. Turn left after the school over a short gravel section to join another cycleway and continue forwards. Turn right at end onto busy A148, then left into Marsh Lane. Continue forwards at sharp bend onto a cycleway, then turn left at cycleway crossroads onto Route 1 and Lynnsport is ahead of you.
