Just a week to go to the 2022 tour extravaganza. It has to be campsites this time because at 66 there has been the need for an electric bike and these need charging.
Finding campsites has been a challenge. I commissioned a well known camping agency and they booked me onto a caravan only site, and one which was totally unaware that I was arriving.Good job I am a belt and braces man.
Still I can't wait to see England's West and Midlands. Four of the sites are on pub campsites. I can see a calamity if the beers good.

the trains from Liverpool were no problem except for the sheer weight of the bike. Through Salisbury and up to Amesbury is pleasant non taxing valley riding. Was dismayed that the ordinary beer was £5 .50 a pint. I didn't go to Stonehenge having been many times before....seen one world heritage site..........
After that its undulating chalk downland with a steep down into Pewsey. Great test of the loaded bike: it was steady on a 30mph curve.
Then onto the Barge Inn at Honeystreet to camp. The beer was good and the company was pleasant. I had food and a sound night in the tent
