Heya,
I'm not sure when this started happening (I tend to stick to local rides in the winter, which I don't need navigation for), but I've noticed recently that the map on the Android app no longer rotates to face your direction of movement when you have the "Look ahead" option selected (instead, it's always oriented north). I went for a tiny ride down the road just now to demonstrate:

I have my location permission set to "only when using the app", but it seems to be same when "all the time" is selected.
Fingers crossed it's a simple fix!

I also wanted to say: thanks for addressing some of the feedback after the "background navigation" update earlier in the year. Apart from this little issue, the app seems to function much better with non-invasive permissions now :)
Update: I have discovered that opening and them closing the elevation graph allows the map to start rotating! I've tried this across multiple app restarts and it seems to consistently fix the problem. Maybe some flag isn't being initialised properly?
Coincidentally I was out for a ride with the Android app yesterday and noticed the same thing. I think I’ve identified a fix which will be in the (imminent) next version. A little wet to test it on a ride today but I’ve verified it works on a (warm, dry) train at least!
