Easily the best of its kind. I am using the Android app.
I don't like the map rotating, so I have selected
Map menu > Centred
and
Settings > App Settings > Disable rotation in Centred view.
The map still rotates sometimes if I am not very careful when using two fingers to shrink or expand it. I haven't been able to work out what I am doing differently when it does.

‘Disable rotation in centred view’ disables automatic rotation, but yes, if you twist your fingers then it’ll still rotate it manually.
Out of interest, where do you find this an issue – is it while navigating? There’s already a ‘Map lock’ feature (on the top-right map menu) that prevents accidentally moving the map while navigating – I could maybe extend that to rotating too.

"where do you find this an issue" It's infuriating at any point - it's so easy to do without noticing and then you get really confused :(.
"'Map lock' I could maybe extend that to rotating too." It already stops rotation, but it also locks the centre point of your view, so you can't move the map to look at another part of the route. Although you can still zoom.
What I would like is to unlock everything except rotation.
Oddly, I have just tried 'Map lock' then unticked it and the map does exactly what I want now. I can move around and zoom, but there is no rotation. This doesn't normally last though, I suspect there is something unintended going on...
