I’m not sure I’m expressing my question clearly. Is there a way to ensure that I always stay on the same route, regardless of what happens? Or does it already do that, and I’m not aware of it?
Why am I asking?
I send routes to Garmin Connect, which is then displayed on my Garmin Edge 130 Plus. This device uses the breadcrumb method instead of actual maps. This works great, but it would be convenient if I could also use the Cycle.Travel app simultaneously to receive voice notifications.
I hope I’m making sense!
Thank you.
PS. This site and app are fantastic. They’re my go-to for finding the safest and most enjoyable routes.

Hi, another user here. If I'm understanding your question correctly, isn't it just a case of using the CycleTravel app on your smartphone? Select your preplanned journey in the app, and it will voice instructions. It will display the route too, but if you don't need that as you are using your Garmin, just keep the phone in your pocket or bar bag.
In case not already aware: to maximise phone battery life, use the features in the app to download the route and maps, and then put phone in flight mode. Also set "dim between turns".
You might be right. Thanks for that tip! I will give it a try. :)
Oh by the way, have my own tip to add.
When using Cycle.Travel to Garmin Connect I suggest doing the following:
Send to Garmin Connect
Open Garmin Connect
More (...)
Training and Planning
Courses
There you will something like cycle.travel route date/time
Choose : (3 dots) Duplicate
(For some reason making a duplicate is the only way to edit the file)
Select the duplicate: copy of cycle.travel route date/time
Edit
There you can change the course name
Change the speed calculator of Virtual Partner (I recommend avg speed 1 mph if you find it annoying, it'll dissappear that way, don't choose 0 mph, might crash file)
Etc.
Save
Click the watch icon
It'll save on the next automatic or forced sync.
If you ever modify an existing course, I suggest removing it from your GPS first and resending.
