Hello,

I was wondering when I am selecting route types on the app (Paved, Gravel, Any, Cycle Routes) I got confused. Initially I guessed that the app by default would take me via a quiet route prioritising cycleways in London, but having found the route type feature I would like some clarification. Would the quietest road, and the most cycle friendly (in theory) be the 'cycle routes'?

e.g from caledonian park to charing cross hospital I get starkly different routes when switching between these modes/

Thank you very much!

‘Cycle routes’ chooses only signposted cycle routes, not any other roads. For example, in London, it’ll follow TfL Cycleways, the National Cycle Network, and other such signposted routes.

Generally in cities ‘Any’ will find the best route, or (in the UK) ‘Night’ if you want to avoid unlit areas at night.
