I've got an overall route from Caen to Marseilles and want to use your tool to split the route on distance but I can't find how to do this. help please!

On the left of the screen (on a desktop computer), under “Route summary”, choose “Suggest overnight stops”. You can adjust the distance there and then add overnight stops.
You can always drag the overnight stops, or click on any via point and choose to make it an overnight stop.
When you save the journey out again, you’ll have the option to break it into individual journeys, one per day.
