I don’t have any immediate plans but never say never – are there any in particular you’re thinking of?

Essentially the challenge is that adding more countries takes up more server space (and renting more servers is expensive). In addition, cycle.travel’s routing is hand-tuned for each country and I’m less confident about (say) the state of OpenStreetMap data in Africa than in Europe, e.g. determining which roads are paved, which are busy with motor traffic, and so on.

For my own purposes (i.e. an upcoming big trip) I was hoping to see more coverage of the near-east, Turkey, Cyprus or Isreal - but I understand the difficulties you are calling out. 

There is apparently a pretty good touring scene in Japan, as well.
