Most of the South Downs Way is open to bikes but does not appear on the maps as a recognised route or in the Route Guide section (al la DevonCtC, Kennet & Avon, etc). Could this route be added at some stage?

Interesting idea. It’s mapped in OpenStreetMap as a mountain bike route so cycle.travel doesn’t pick it up from there. But it’s probably more of a trekking/bikepacking route than a pure MTB route, so it might be worth showing on the map, even if the route-planner doesn’t route along it by default. I’ll give it some thought.
Thanks for reply. Yes, definitely more trekking than mtb and would be good to see the route identified.
My follow up question was going to be about Llandegla forest but from your reply I can deduce why some trails there are not shown/identified.
