Advice using Cycle travel in France

Im shortly cycling in France and hoping to use CT.

Please advise me on does and donts as I dont want incur horrendous mobile charges

creating round trip

I will soon be staying in a hotel in France,I am trying to creating a round trip by using more points. However when the return route covers the same roads as outward route CT wont let be proceed. No big deal as Im sure I will recognise the return

I guess I am missing something but what.
