The long way to New Passage, along the base of the first ridge inland, then across the moor to New Passage. Pleasant country views, the estuary and mudflats with birds in season.
Created mainly to show a more attractive way through Bristol.
In Yatton it is possible to cut the corner by turning off onto the footpath signed for the village centre to use Chesney Road. The footpath has a better surface than the immediately following track, also signed, which is always deeply puddled.
There are various options across the North Somerset levels in the Yatton area.
Reasonably direct, low traffic route from Stoke Bishop to Broadmead, in the town centre.
Direct route to Portbury Wharf nature reserve. The route continues to the river bank and bird hides by going through the gate and along the track, which has a reasonable surface. The footpath on a track from Sheepway further north east that the planner also includes I have never tried but believe to be what the planner says - rough. WJH
