Partick - Erskine Bridge - Paisley - Bell's Bridge loop 34 miles

Essentially the same as Wilkie's "Around Glasgow" Route 9, but starting from Partick station instead of Bell's Bridge. He gives mileage as 31 but Cycle.Travel maps it at 34.1 miles.

Mainly NCR (54%) cycle paths - NCR 7 from Partick to Erskine Bridge and NCR 75 from Linwood back to Bell's Bridge. There is around half a mile on rough track at Linwood moss.

There are 4 climbs roughly between mile 7 and mile 15, one of which needs granny gear. Some short undulations from there back to the start.

Good views along the Clyde from Erskine Bridge, and some pleasant quiet rural roads from outside of Bishopton to Linwood.

Malaga - Rincon de Victoria (easy 8.5 miles "offroad")

1. From Malaga Tourist office head east through the park, with a short sharp climb after Dunkin' Coffee, and turn right at Calle Reding, bear left and left again to access Paseo Maritimo P. R. Picasso. (1m). Follow CP parallel to main road, passing a spit beside an ice cream kiosk (2m.) to Banos del Carmen.

2. A short section of main road on C. Bolivia - and just before a pedestrian crossing (beside a cypress tree) look for a 90 degree right turn passing "Pez Tomillo" cafe. Access Paseo Maritimo El Pedregal (3 m.) and follow this, hugging close to the shore (some track sections). It becomes Calle Quitapenas at Playas del Palo. (4 m.) This CP becomes Banda del Mar, then C. Playa del Chanquete at a small marina (5m.)

3. Brief road section, past yacht club building - bear right onto the beachside rough paved track just before the Repsol garage and a footbridge over the main road. Follow the CP through Parque Maritimo Terrestre Penon del Cuevo, and two short climbs to reach La Arana. (6 miles.) There is a Cave Interpretation Centre.

4. Go straight on, above and parallel to the main road. At the mini-roundabout with a tree, go straight on. Ascend briefly at an underpass and join the roadside CP beside a large rock. Follow the CP grit track eastwards and hugging the shoreline whenever possible.

5. Pass a caravan park, follow the track past the Prehistoric museum at some small cliffs (6.5 m). The track becomes roughly paved after the caravan park - on Paseo Maritimo de la Cala, with 3 beach cafes just after 7 miles; becoming P. Maritimo Nuestra Senora del Carmen.

6. This bears right gently round a headland, then back left through a series of 4 tunnels. Follow the CP through a defile to access the beach at Playa Rincon de Victoria. (8 miles.) There is a chiringuito - Aquite Espero - on the beach. A bike shop is shown here on the left behind the main road (8.3 miles). There are more beachside restaurants a little further on (@ 8.5 miles) - Con Otro Aire and a bar and pizzeria just after a statue. There are several more bars and cafes further along the Paseo. (9 miles).

Rothesay south to Ettrick Bay circuit (21.8 miles, 6 climbs; 1.7 m + 1 m on track)

From the pier follow the coast road A 844 heading east round past Ascog, and start to climb as the road heads away from the sea at Via Point 3. (4 miles)

A steady ascent of 2 miles through Via Point 4 to the first main summit (96 m.a.s.l.) at Via point 5. (6 miles). Pass the war memorial here at the sharp V-junction with a track coming in from the right, and after around half a mile, take the next unpaved track on the right beside the wooden signpost. Follow the track, (essentially down-up, down-up) passing farm buildings, and ignoring another track to the left at a copse after about 1 mile; bearing right until you arrive at a T-junction of unpaved tracks. Turn left here and follow this track, bearing right at the farm beside a copse of trees. Keep on the rough track, bearing left again till you reach tarmac. Keep "straight on" until you meet the B881 (8.3 miles) and turn left on it briefly. At the T-junction with the A 844 turn right and follow it, descending round Scalpsie bay (sealwatch here!).

Descend to Via Point 6 and start a steady climb back north to the second main summit at Via Point 7 near Haystack rock. (10 miles) The third proper summit is at VP 8, just before the junction with the B 878. (13 miles) Turn left, following the A 844. Descend to reach Ettrick bay (16 miles), and cross by the rough and sandy track adjacent to the shore. Return to the quiet B 875 road at the tearoom (VP 9) (16.8miles) for a gentle up-and-over to "summit" 4 (18 miles) near the cemetery, (VP 10) and back to the eastern shore, and turn right here (19 miles) for a flat run along the coast through Port Bannatyne (19.5 miles) on the A844 (detouring left onto the quieter coast road through Ardbeg). A gentle short up-and-over just after Ardbeg (21 miles) is the last uphill before returning to Rothesay - 21.8 miles.

Rothesay to Ettrick Bay mid-island loop 13.3 miles - 3 climbs

Starting from the E-bike hire depot at Rothesay pier take the B 881 south and immediately turn right to join the B 878. There is a 70-metre ascent over the first mile and a half to Via Point 2. That's the highest point of the ride. Greenan loch is on the right. The reward now is a lovely scenic descent (mostly!) of three and a half miles (forking right on the A 844) to Ettrick bay. Excellent views coming into the bay. Cross the bay (another flat mile on a cycleable track - but no tarmac) to the tearoom. Via Point 4. [6 miles]

At the tearoom, join the B 875, where there is a tarmac roadside cycle path ("The Tramway") - but Street View shows several nuisance gates, so I suggest sticking to the road.

A steady easy up-and-over on the B 875 for just over 1 mile until the junction with a service road on the left at The Manse (look for the cemetery) is reached. Take this service road for 1 mile - it's slightly flatter than the B875;  the track's surface quality is rough, but manageable.

Rejoin the A 866 briefly at the T-junction, turning left at Via Point 6 to go round the corner for the lovely views of loch Striven and the hills on the Toward peninsula. Look for a track on the right that goes down to the coast and photo opportunities at Via Point 7. [9 miles]

Return to the A 866 and turn left onto the A 844 heading round the bay towards Port Bannatyne. Bear left on the cycle route network at Via Point 8 and follow the coastal road to Ardbeg [12 miles] and then rejoin the A 844 for a flat coast run (apart from one very short climb at Via point 9) back to Rothesay [13.3 miles]

Rhodes-Pastida easy 8.5 miles - Bee Museum 10-mile

Follow the coast road (rat run possible by bearing right at VP1). Look for the gushet - El Venizelou - with a rental shop on the RHS. [@ 3miles]. Follow this, past Avra Beach resort and turn right at VP2, then bearing back left continuing straight on beside the beach at VP3. Follow the road past Vrachos on RHS and La Bonita restaurant on the left, swinging round 90 degrees left at VP4 into Ierou Lochou. Follow this road back to the main road at VP5 and turn right on the main road for two miles.

Pass the EKO and BP petrol stations on R and L side, and just after the TEIEIMOIPH supermarket and Shell garage on the left, turn left at the fork onto Ikaron (VP9). Now start a steady gently-graded ascent to Pastida. There is a bar on the RHS @ 7-mile point. Follow this road to the roundabout at VP11 and fork left here, passing newish build and a couple of bars (Lithos, Champion) then keep straight on the main road (i.e. bear right) at VP12. At VP 13 either stay on the main road (bearing to the right) or SO into Pastida's main square.

There is a pizzeria on the left just before VP 13; and the main square at the crossroads has a bakery, cake shop, Giannis cafe bar, plus a Skalakia taverna, coffee shop and cafe. There are some shops in the village centre.

The bee museum is further on, just over a mile heading southeast on the main road towards Kalithies. Cycle.travel route planner says it's at the 10-mile Via point, and there is around half a mile of moderate 6% climb involved.
