The CT app is currently not set up to record anything as far as I'm aware. 

There is no shortage of apps that will record a ride and should work simultaneously with CT. 

Strava, RWGPS, the dreaded Komoot (:-)) all do this along with many others.

Of course ai can run both apps.

Just worried about :

- heating the phone up too much

- draining the battery faster

The cycle.travel app will show your elapsed distance at the bottom of the screen, but it doesn’t store it anywhere. I think adding a whole bunch of stuff to track rides would be quite an endeavour and for now I’m concentrating on route-planning and route ideas, though I wouldn’t rule it out forever!
