To help fund the site, we may run content from third-party advertisers and networks. These ads may also set cookies. If you would prefer them not to, open your browser preferences, find ‘Privacy’ (or similar), and choose a setting such as ‘Disable third-party cookies and site data’.
You may at any time inspect and delete your cookies using your browser settings.
When you register as a user of cycle.travel, we’re grateful for your trust in our website, and we aim to remain worthy of that trust.
We will not share the information you give us (your email address and exact location) with anyone. We may use your generalised location to show more relevant content (for example, content relating to your nearest city), and your exact location to improve the site experience (for example, centering the map at the right point).
Your use of cycle.travel is conditional on agreeing to the following terms.
Safety. Safe cycling is your responsibility; we are not responsible for any injury or harm while you’re on your bike. You should always make your own judgement based on the real-world factors in front of you. Your use of the site, and any information obtained from it, is entirely at your own risk.
Accuracy and endorsement. We do aim for accuracy at all times, but information on this site may be out-of-date, incomplete or inaccurate. We make no warranty that any information on the site is true, accurate, up-to-date, or complete. Reference to any product, service or practice (including text, hyperlinks, and images) does not imply endorsement.
Affiliate and advertiser content. We may publish content from third-party suppliers and provide links for you to conduct business with them (for example, hotel bookings). We do not make any warranty to the accuracy of this content, or the suitability or otherwise of the products or services on offer. Any such transaction is entirely between you and the third-party supplier, and you should satisfy yourself as to their suitability and trustworthiness before entering into a transaction. We are not responsible for any damages or injury resulting from such transactions.
User-generated content. Postings by users of cycle.travel do not represent the opinions of cycle.travel or its publishers. We welcome your postings as long as they are, to the best of your knowledge, true and fair-minded, and not defamatory, misleading, pornographic or obscene. By uploading content, you warrant that you have rights to distribute this content; and you grant us a worldwide, irrevocable, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to publish, modify, adapt, and distribute it as part of cycle.travel. We reserve the right to remove any content that is uploaded to cycle.travel.
Accessing content. You must not access or download any item other than through the site navigation features provided, or enable anyone else to do so. (For the avoidance of doubt, you are expressly prohibited from accessing our map content, journey-planner and elevation data by directly accessing the image tiles or the routing or elevation services.) We may implement technical protection measures to prevent such access, and will not be responsible for any damage caused by such measures. You must not create a database by systematically accessing content from the site. You must not reproduce any content from cycle.travel without our prior written permission, except where that reproduction is expressly permitted by a (non-user-generated) notice on the site.
Other use of the site. You must not: use the site for any fraudulent or unlawful purpose; upload any item other than text or pictures; access the site in a manner that adversely affects the viewing experience of other users; or use the site for unsolicited bulk communications (such as ‘spam’ email).
Exclusion of loss. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we expressly exclude all conditions, warranties and other terms that might otherwise be implied by law into these terms and conditions of use.
These terms. These terms may be revised at any time; in continuing to use the site, you agree to the revised terms. Any such changes will be signalled on the cycle.travel forum.
