A hilly route across the High Weald of Kent, all tiny, single-track, tree-lined roads up one hilly bank and down the next.
So a workout, certainly, but one with great scenic interest. After Tenterden it becomes much easier, following the Stour valley from Ashford to Canterbury. Easy access to each end by train makes this a worthwhile weekend ride for Londoners.
