Rich in wildlife, flat, and almost entirely traffic-free, this very enjoyable route follows the River Dee out of Chester before heading up the west coast of the Wirral, with the sands of the Dee Estuary stretching out alongside. Parts are railway path but much is new construction, while the Hoylake promenade provides moody sea views. A family-friendly route that the experienced cyclist will also enjoy.
