Broadly following the River Tay, this route is all on-road apart from cycleways in Dundee and Perth. The hills before Perth give genuinely breathtaking views over the river, while the valley road after Dunkeld is an idyllic ride free from the traffic that rumbles along the main road on the opposite bank.
