Dim between Turns

Hello Richard, I am new to Cycle.Travel and am currently trialling the planner and app for potential future use. I must say it looks really useful and well thought-out. One problem I did have, however, was getting the Dim between Turns feature to work so I thought I'd share my findings with you (forgive me if the following is already well-known but I couldn't find the necessary info anywhere on the forum).

I am running the ct app on an iPhone 12 with iOS 17.5.1

After first installing it I found that the screen stayed on all the time whilst navigating, which obviously ate through the battery at an alarming rate.

I found the DbT option in app settings and switched it on but it didn't work at all.

After much experimentation I found that you must have Announcements ON in the app settings as well as DbT ON for the feature to work. I had switched Announcements off, thinking that I didn't need them, and not realising that there was a further option to make them 'on-screen' only.

By the way, the iPhone Display Settings 'automatic' and 'true-tone' made no difference to the DbT function

best regards

Rob
